Emergent Crypsis

A brief collaboration with generative artist Anders Hoff (inconvergent), in which I explored creating creatures camouflaged to his artworks. I'm interested in exploring how life might evolve to hide on human-made materials & patterns, as well as natural ones. Generative art is an extreme example of a human-made substrate; it's solely aesthetic, & it's purposeful rather than incidental like, for example, air pollution deposits on trees which drive wing pattern changes in the peppered moth. Working with generative artists is a way to push my own exploration of plant and animal crypsis in new directions, and I'm interested in working with other artists in future.
